PRIVATE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL IN CENTRAL TEXAS
At Central Texas Christian School, we don't take that lightly. For nearly 40 years, we've partnered with families who want their children educated with excellence and formed with faith.
Choosing a school means choosing who will help shape your child during the years that matter most.
At Central Texas Christian School, we partner with families to educate students to be confident, grounded, and prepared for whatever comes next. From Pre-K through 12th grade, we provide a Christ-centered education that blends academic rigor, spiritual formation, and personal growth.
Families come to CTCS from across Central Texas—including Belton, Killeen, Fort Hood, Salado, and beyond so that their child can be challenged and prepared for life.

All three of our kids have thrived spiritually, academically, and socially; we are incredibly grateful for the nurturing environment and intentional community the school provides. Our children are excited to go to school every day and full of light when we pick them up in the afternoons.
In 1987, a small group of parents from different churches and different backgrounds sat down together with a shared conviction: that children deserve an education rooted in biblical truth, and that building that kind of education was worth the effort. They formed a governing board, rented space from Temple Bible Church, and opened their doors to fourteen students in two classrooms.
Within five years, enrollment had grown to over eighty students. By CTCS's 20th anniversary, more than 520 students filled multiple classes at every grade level. In 1997, a generous local family donated land on West FM 93 between Belton and Temple — a gift that became the foundation for the campus CTCS calls home today. What started as fifteen purchased acres has grown to 54, with room still set aside for what comes next.
In 2002, CTCS graduated its first Senior class. It was a milestone that meant everything — proof that what began as a bold act of faith by five families had grown into something that could take a child from their first classroom all the way to the threshold of their future.
In 2027, CTCS will celebrate 40 years. The student body has grown. The campus has expanded. The staff has deepened. But the original principles that five families put in place in 1987 still provide the foundation and direction of everything that happens here.

Meet Our Leadership

Favorite Scripture
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing, and perfect will.”
Romans 12:1-2
Dr. Jared Roan is a high-energy leader who is passionate about pointing others toward Jesus. He brings over 20 years of experience in education — 15 in administration — including Head of School and principal roles at Christian schools across Texas and Tennessee. He holds a BS from McMurry University, an M.Ed. from Texas A&M Commerce, and an Ed.D. from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
Dr. Roan and his wife, Mylia, have two children, Hadlee and Hudson. When not cheering on the Lions or on campus, Dr. Roan is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing, and traveling.
“I love it here! Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work in several Christian schools, and I can honestly say this community is different than anywhere else I’ve worked. Every place had a strong sense of community, but the tight-knit fellowship at CTCS far exceeds what I experienced at other schools. The genuine care and compassion that each person has for one another is comforting and encouraging at the same time. I feel blessed to be here.”

Coach Johnston is entering his ninth year at Central Texas Christian School. A University of Mary Hardin-Baylor graduate who played college football and assisted with the basketball program, he is a passionate advocate for using athletics to build character and faith. He believes what students learn in competition directly prepares them to face adversity in a way that glorifies Christ.
Leif and his wife, Morgan, have three children. He is grateful for their support as he pursues transformational, Christ-centered coaching.
“We merely want to use athletics as an avenue to give them tools to handle adversity in a way that glorifies Christ. Having the opportunity to further His Kingdom by the way we act, talk, and perform is the most satisfying aspect of what it means to be a coach.”

The way our school partners with families not just for academic success, but most importantly, the spiritual growth of each child, is truly priceless. I would love to tell anyone who walks through the door how impactful CTCS can be for them and their future.”

“Serving as Dean of Academics is a privilege because it sits at the intersection of vision and impact. I’m inspired by the chance to support teachers, challenge students, and continually refine what excellent education looks like in our community. I believe education is most powerful when it forms the whole person, cultivating knowledge and skill, as well as character, discernment, and a love of truth. My hope is that every decision we make points students not only toward academic success, but toward lives marked by wisdom, integrity, and purpose.”
