About Intermediate School Education at CTCS
Fifth graders aren't elementary "little kids" anymore, and sixth graders aren't quite ready to be with fourteen-year-old eighth graders. They're in between developmentally, socially, and emotionally. This is a unique stage, and fifth and sixth-graders need their own environment to explore it.
At CTCS, we built an intentional learning environment for 5th and 6th graders with their own cohort of teachers, their own bell schedule, and their own lunch period. They transition into middle school structure while keeping the stability of smaller classes and the care they’ve always known. Sixth graders even get a head start on middle school athletics, giving them a natural entry into the broader community.
